b2evolution is a multi-lingual, multi-user, multi-blog publishing system written in PHP and backed by a MySQL database. It is focused on ease of installation, feature richness and can easily be installed on almost any linux server in a matter of minutes.
Movable Type
Movable Type is a weblog publishing system developed by the company Six Apart. The application supports static page generation (in which files for each page are updated whenever the content of the site is changed), dynamic page generation (in which pages are composited from the underlying data as the browser requests them), or a combination of the two techniques.
Nucleus
Nucleus is an open-source blog management software package written in PHP, with a MySQL backend. It is used to manage frequently-updated Web content. With a little tweaking (mainly to skins) it might be considered a lightweight content management system, although there is no facility to upload file types other than graphic files to be displayed within the blog pages.
Wordpress
WordPress is an open source blog publishing application. It has a templating system, which includes widgets that can be rearranged without editing PHP or HTML code, as well as themes that can be installed and switched between. The PHP and HTML code in themes can also be edited for more advanced customizations.
